Mike Whiting Interview

The first plan to shoot Mike Whiting fell through as everyone was ready to film and making their way to Sittingbourne, Mike had called Hannah whom relayed the message to us to cancel due to an unexpected call from the hospital. We all met up and sat in a cafe to discuss what to do next. We had to reschedule. It was already hard enough to get hold of Mike Whitings time. In the end I suggested that if we don't get hold of Mike Whiting, we will have to take a statement from him and insert it into our news with someone voicing over the graphics.

In the end we had to get a statement from Mike Whiting because we could not book another appointment in time for our deadlines.

Mike Baldwyn Interview

Unfortunately I could not attend this interview but Illy took over my role as a director. The shoot looked like it went well. Hannah, the sound operator and Tim the camera operator shot the interview very well. The sound was clear and the shots were perfectly framed and in focus. I thought my team had done very well despite me not being there to help.

Cut Aways

The museum was very cold, but because the building had electric that was still working, we were able to switch on the lights and film a couple of shots which was usable for the package. We tried to work as quick as we could. Filming close ups of the display cabinet, and Illy who was going to present walking around the museum looking at artifacts. Time constraints were me having to move my car every 2 hours because parking in the High street had a maximum of 2 hours with 2 hours no return.
After filming cut aways in the Court Hall, we decided to break for lunch so we could warm up before filming the Walkie Talkies with Illy. Problems came from the time of the day where kids were finishing school so it was peak time for parents coming out, therefore more cars. Ontop of that, Illy hadn't learnt her lines, so we were standing waiting for Illy to learn her lines so we could shoot.

Overall I think that shoot went well and we got shots that we needed.

VOX POPS

Hannah and I went out to film some Vox Pops at the opening of the Court Hall for a christmas special. We had not booked the camera out and the booking was full. Luckily Hannah had brought her own Canon out with her so we used it to shoot the vox pops. We also had to take out mic, anything that can record the sound. We took out the fostex, which was the last and only option and went to buy batteries incase the battries went dead on the shoot which it did.
We were feeling hopeful to spend no more than 1 hour to go in, shoot the vox pops and go. This was a simple task. We had managed to film 4 people of different age group. 2 males and 2 females opinions on what attracted them to take a look inside the Court Hall. Overall we had gotten some great answers and shot on site inside the Hall.
We did not waste any time and just do our job. Hannah was in charge of sound, and I was feeling confident with using a DSLR so, I shot the vox pops. We managed to shoot within the hour to get back to the studios on time.
