Pitch

A girl who escapes from stalkers finds safety in a strangers open house.

Plot

Act 1

Sun is setting down the quiet streets of London in late october. Layla a young lady standing on the corner of a quiet road waiting to be picked up. She finds herself being watched by strangers in a car opposite. She texts her friend...

'Please be quick'

Then decides to look for safety and walks off trying to find a busier street. She sees the car move off to follow her so she walks quicker. She turns to see some one start chasing her down the road. She starts running.

Act 2

As she turns a corner she finds an open door and runs into the house. She quietly closes the door behind her. Panting with fear she looks through the windows to see if the people chasing her had seen her. She then hears a baby cry she turns and walks into the next room. She sees a woman holding her baby.

Lady

'Oh my God!'

Layla

'Sorry to intrude, I don't mean any harm I saw your door opened and wanted a safe place to hide.'

The lady walks towards Layla as if to push her away from the door and closes the door behind her. She puts the baby into another room. She comes back, a bright light shone through the window. The lady looks out the window and sees a woman walking towards the window. She slowly draws the curtains closed fearing not to be seen.

Lady

'You're safe here, what happened?'

Layla

'I am being chased by strangers and I don't know why! We should call the police'

Lady

'No! You cant. Not yet anyways.'

Layla

'Why not?!'

Lady

'My baby is upstairs and I don't want to bring drama into this house, besides, I saw a woman walking around the house who is still looking for you'

Layla

'So what shall we do?'

Lady

'You will have to wait until daylight before its safe to go out'

Layla

'Are you sure? You don't know me too well'

Lady

'Yea its fine, I know enough to see that you are in trouble and need help. Let me go get some bedding together for you.'

Lady walks away. Layla has time to look around the room. She sees a newspaper on the table. A picture of a baby. Similar to the one the lady was holding.

It read 'baby kidnapped whilst mother bent down to pick baby's dummy'.

She looked around the room. No sign of another father or even baby photos. The house didn't have much signs that a baby belonged in the house.

Act 3
