I had planned to film a time lapse sunrise over Leeds castle which would start for the lines...
'On London fell a clearer light;
Caressing pencils of the sun...'
I wanted to use this shot because I thought the sunrise would look beautiful over the fields across a castle. The castle also relates to the poetry about war. This shot also as a beginning of the poem will be the beginning of the day. The end of the poem will end with a time lapse of the sun setting.
'The soldier dying dies upon a kiss,
The very kiss of Christ.'
I felt that a sun setting at the end of the poem relates to the words because when I read these words, I can imagine the sun 'dying' like the soldier in the poem whilst it sets. The second line contradicts the line above where 'The Kiss of Christ' will be metaphorical as if the sun is 'Christ' kissing the ground which would be the soldier in this line. This would relate to the contrast theme which is also in the poem and for my adaptation.
I had got in contact in preparation for shooting Leeds castle, and they emailed me back saying I am allowed to film on location as long as I pay for the admission fee and put the credits in. As a student, I already mentioned in the email, I thought the admission price was expensive just to film a sunrise on the grounds. So I decided to look elsewhere which is within budget.
Email exchanged between Leeds castle and I
Plans for Shooting at Poison Gardens
I have planned to shoot the poisonous flowers at the poison Gardens in Alnwick at the flowers that I am shooting is a contrast to life. These flowers can be deadly in certain doses or cause disease or rashes. I wanted to shoot out of london where I can capture different landscapes.
I have planned to stay a couple of days as it will be a long drive. I will be shooting the day after I arrive, and the day after that will be shooting elsewhere, possibly the landscapes surrounding the town.
My Booking confirmation.
As I have planned to go to Alnwick, I thought it would be great to try film some sunrise and sunset shots up there. It would be away from London and there would be plenty of beautiful landscapes to film there.
