I have chosen to study Brian Wankum who is the producer for Once Upon a time, because it a TV series related to fairy tales set in the modern world, which is similar to our film. Looking at his filmography he is known for producing many sic-fi series such as Buffy, V and Firefly. I have also chosen to compare him with Steve Oster, producer of Grimm because the stories are much darker and also a fantasy horror which is also similar to our film in terms of theme, individual stories within each episode and make-up. Grimm is based on Brothers Grimm stories adapted to a dark fantasy horror. Our production Fables is an adaptation of the moral of the fables adapted to a dark fantasy horror. These were the directors influences for the genre and style of the film. Looking at Steve Osters filmography shows that he has produced a mixture of sic-fi, supernatural horror, comedy, family, romance etc... From this I have found that not all producers necessarily stick to one genre. Maybe they have a preference, but if they find a screenplay they like and can see a profit from it, they would go and produce the film.
