Week 1 - Research

The first pre-production week the VT and Promos team were still unsure about the production. The producers did not turn up, so we kind of wasted a week not able to move forward as much as we would like to. Text messages were passed back and forth between the producer and VT producer but the group were still unclear on what the producer wanted.
In this week our group had a meeting and we looked at who the graffiti kings were. We then suggested and discussed ideas. At the moment we were brainstorming as we hadn’t received much information about this topic and how the producer wanted to show it.

Someone suggested following the Graffiti Kings and introducing them and their work, we all discussed that this would not be the best idea as the VT will be useless when they will be introduced on the panel anyway. Plus the VT could be a bit boring because it does not bring much to the production. Picking up information from the videos we watched online about graffiti, I suggested doing a history timeline from when graffiti began and how it has evolved until now. This could introduce the subject and open up a debate about it also it is unbiased. We knew Bansky will be mentioned as he is a well known graffiti artist, but we would like to avoid repeating and divert talking about him and his work. I had a book of Banskys work that I brought in in case we wanted any footage for cut aways when panelists mention him. The book contains places where his artwork could be seen around london and worldwide, we could use this book to find locations to shoot some stock footage.

Some of Bansky's interesting graffiti art that caught my eye and found interesting that I like.

All images found in the Bansky graffiti book.
