The Meeting

To create a 2min fictional film and a 10 page script about the meeting of 2 characters. It should be set in 1 location (confined space)

A good Scripts key ingredients are:
  1. Characters - the subject the audience focuses or follows through the story.
  2. Location - where the story is set.
  3. Sounds - diegetic (actual)/non-diegetic(added for effects)
  4. Story - a sequence of events that has a beginning, middle and end.
  5. Plot - encapsulates the idea. (usually in around 25 words)
  6. Theme - What topic does it contain

A story consists of:
Goal - Main goal of the protagonist
Great storytelling involves a goal that is no longer wanted.
Problem - Problems the characters face and overcome or not
Change - Character must change through Physical, Sociological or Psychological to make it believable and valid to the audience.

The world the audience understood from the start must be different by the end.

Problem/Need - to create drama
Problem - the difficulty the protagonist is in at the start of the story
Need - inner problem which is PREVENTING the protagonist from having a better life

Desire/Wants
Desire - what the protagonist wants (the goal) and seeks through the story.
Motive - Why does the protagonist want the goal.
Stakes - What happens IF the protagonist fails or succeeds. The Bigger the Stake, the better the story.

Pitch (Hook) - encapsulating the idea

Key elements:
A. Setting
B. Theme
C. Genre
